The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to several academic programmes at the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), following the commission’s October/November 2025 accreditation exercise.

According to an official communication dated April 7, 2026, the accredited programmes include Mass Communication, Computer Science, Education Mathematics, Integrated Science, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Sociology.
The NUC stated that the exercise was conducted in line with its statutory mandate to ensure quality assurance and compliance with minimum academic standards across Nigerian universities.

Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Gbenga Ibileye, expressed appreciation to the commission for the outcome, describing it as a validation of the institution’s commitment to academic excellence.
He commended staff and students of the affected departments for their dedication and resilience, noting that the achievement reflects sustained efforts to strengthen teaching, research, and institutional capacity.
Prof. Ibileye added that the accreditation would further enhance the university’s academic profile and position it for greater impact within Nigeria’s higher education system.
