NYSC Deputy Director Admonishes Corps Members to Avoid Electoral Malpractices
Deputy Director of the National Youths Service Corps, Mrs. Grace Ogbuogede has on Wednesday, admonished Corps Members not to participate in any form of malpractice during the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Deputy Director of the National Youths Service Corps, Mrs. Grace Ogbuogede has on Wednesday, admonished Corps Members not to participate in any form of malpractice during the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
While making this admonition at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, Ogbuogede called on all Corps Members to represent the Scheme well and adhere strictly to the election guidelines.
She said, “Your assignments as Corps Members extend to other national duties and part of it is election. Your predecessors have made the Scheme proud in past elections.
“I want to let you know that election is coming again and we expect the best from you by lifting up the flag of NYSC. We want you to play by the rules of engagement.
“The Scheme has put things in place for your safety and welfare. Each State has its own peculiarity as regards security. The management of NYSC has identified the flash points in each State and we are going to do something concerning those areas during election.”
The former Oyo State NYSC Coordinator also advised them to outrightly reject financial inducements from politicians.
She said, “Don't accept any financial inducement because INEC has duly made provision for your welfare. You must not compromise your dignity. It is expected of you to carry out this assignment with dignity, patriotism and integrity.”
