OAU College of Health Sciences Honours Mr. Samuel Adesina Ojuade Following Meritorious Service
The Department of Medicine, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), together with its sister department at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC), Ile-Ife, held an appreciation and send-off ceremony in honour of Mr. Samuel Adesina Ojuade, a Chief Secretariat Assistant, in recognition of his years of meritorious service. The event took place on 10th April , 2026, at the Clinical Students’ Lecture Hall, OAUTHC.
In his opening remarks, the Head of Department, Prof. Razak Adebayo, welcomed guests and commended Mr. Ojuade for his dedication, commitment, and selfless contributions to the department over the years.

The Chairman of the event, Dr. (Mrs.) Modupe Adebajo, College Secretary, College of Medicine, OAU, expressed appreciation to members of the College community, family, and well-wishers for honouring the occasion. She commended the department for recognising Mr. Ojuade’s contributions and described him as a man whose impact had been felt across the system. She encouraged everyone present to plan towards retirement, noting that the values and seeds of service sown today will yield rewards in the future.
Also speaking, the Deputy Provost, College of Medicine, Prof. Oluyomi Okunola, lauded the department and the College for maintaining a culture of honour and recognition. He described Mr. Ojuade as a model of humility, dedication, and integrity, and wished him continued wisdom, peace, and prosperity in retirement.
In his response, Mr. Ojuade expressed gratitude to the leadership of the College and acknowledged God’s grace for sustaining him throughout his career. His son, Mr. Gideon Ojuade, described his father as a principled, God-fearing man who taught his children the values of respect, discipline, and hard work.
The event climaxed with the presentation of a Meritorious Service Award and gifts to Mr. Ojuade in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development of the department and the institution.
