The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State, Dr. Chioma Awuzie, has urged the Polytechnic Female Staff Association (POFSA) to make conferences a regular, annual event to boost the professional growth of its members.
Dr. Awuzie made the call when the association paid her a courtesy visit in her office. She stressed that conferences play a vital role in advancing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and enhancing career opportunities.

Recalling her own experience, she noted that the second conference she attended as a staff member was organised by POFSA, adding that such events should be held every year to encourage knowledge sharing, networking, and professional development. She commended the association for its solidarity and support for her administration, promising to back its initiatives.

Earlier, the POFSA president, Dr. Joy Obiora, who led the delegation of executives and stakeholders, thanked God for the appointment of Dr. Awuzie as the substantive Rector. She also praised founding member Prof. Lucy Nwuba and past administrations of the Polytechnic for their support to the association.

Dr. Obiora highlighted that POFSA, established in 2005, began by organising conferences, praying together, and promoting the welfare of all female staff. She pledged to strengthen the association and make it more impactful in the years ahead.
