Oluwatobiloba Richard Omoyele Achieves First-Class Honors in Pharmacy at UNILAG
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) is celebrating the academic excellence of Oluwatobiloba Richard Omoyele, who has graduated with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Pharmacy.
Completing his studies during the 2025 academic session, Omoyele achieved an outstanding Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.66 out of 5.00. His success underscores the rigorous academic standards of the UNILAG Faculty of Pharmacy.
Beyond his academic scores, Omoyele contributed significantly to the field of pharmacy and health economics through his undergraduate research. His project, titled “Economic Burden of Breast Cancer Patients at LUTH: An Assessment of Catastrophic Healthcare Expenditure,” provides critical insights into the financial challenges faced by patients at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). His work highlights the urgent need for sustainable healthcare financing models in Nigeria.
Reflecting on his journey, Omoyele noted that his success was the result of a willingness to embrace challenges. "Growth comes through discomfort," he remarked, emphasizing that this milestone was only achieved by pushing through the demanding rigors of the pharmacy curriculum.
The academic community and professional colleagues join in celebrating this trailblazer as he transitions into the professional sphere, where his research and dedication are expected to make a lasting impact on Nigeria's healthcare landscape.
