Prof. Solomon Nwigbo of UNIZIK was elected as the New Dean, of the Faculty of Engineering, In his response, Prof. Nwigbo expressed thanks to God, the Vice-Chancellor, the outgoing Dean, and members of the Faculty.

A professor of Design and Solid Mechanics, Solomon Chukwuka Nwigbo of the department of Mechanical Engineering has been elected as the new Dean, Faculty of Engineering.

Prof. Nwigbo polled a total of 87 votes to emerge Dean while his opponent, Prof. Louis Orakwe of the department of Agric and Bioresources Engineering polled 31 votes. 118 voters were accredited before the election.

Congratulating the new Dean, the Vice-Chancellor, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu charged him to work harmoniously with members of the Faculty. The University registrar was represented at the election by the Deputy Registrar (Personnel) and Council Member, Pastor Sam Ufoh.

In his response, Prof. Nwigbo expressed thanks to God, the Vice-Chancellor, the outgoing Dean and members of the Faculty.

He described the victory as a great privilege, a sign of love and responsibility.
