Professor Olawale Mashood Aliyu Appointed Dean of KWASU's School of Postgraduate Studies
His experience also includes serving as a technical adviser with the National Cashew Association of Nigeria, Head of the Crop Improvement Division at the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria, Ibadan, and leading the Cashew Research Programme at the same institute.
Professor Olawale Mashood Aliyu has been appointed as the new Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies at Kwara State University (KWASU). A Professor of Genetics and Plant Breeding in the Department of Crop Production, Professor Aliyu achieved full professorial status in 2016 and previously served as the Director of Research and Development at the university.
Before this new role, Professor Aliyu held positions as Head of the Department and Provost of the College of Agriculture. He joined KWASU in 2012, after dedicating two years as an adjunct senior lecturer, and has a distinguished background as a research scientist with the Apomixis Research Group at the Institute for Plant Genetics and Cultivated Crop Plant Research (IPK) in Germany from 2006 to 2012.

Professor Aliyu succeeds Professor Moshood Mahmood Jimba, who has been appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration.
