RSU Reduces Convocation Fees for 37th and 38th Convocation Combined Ceremony After Talk with Student Unions

Rivers State University (RSU), Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, has announced a downward review of the convocation fees for its forthcoming 37th and 38th Combined Convocation Ceremony scheduled for December 2025.
The decision followed a strategic meeting held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, between the university management and the leadership of the Students’ Union Government, where concerns over the initial fees were deliberated.
According to the new rates approved by the management, Bachelor’s Degree graduands will now pay ₦60,000, Professional/Certificate Programmes ₦68,000, Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) ₦125,000, Master’s Degree ₦125,000, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) ₦210,000.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi, commended the Students’ Union Government and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) for constructive dialogue that led to the resolution of misunderstandings and strengthened the cordial relationship between management and students.
The announcement, signed by the Registrar, Mrs. Ibimonia B. S. Harry, advised all graduating students, parents, and the general public to take note of the revised fees and rely only on official communications from the university.
