RSU Vice-Chancellor Hosts NANS Leadership on Campus Tour
The Vice-Chancellor of Rivers State University (RSU), Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi, received the Executive Council of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), led by its President, Comrade Olushola Oladoja, during their nationwide campus tour.

Recalling his days as a student union leader, Prof. Zeb-Obipi described unionism as an important platform for nurturing future leaders. He noted reforms he introduced as Dean of Students’ Affairs, which included restructuring the Student Union Government (SUG), implementing e-voting, and ensuring direct funding of the union’s account. Now as Vice-Chancellor, he pledged continued dedication to advancing student welfare and development.
In his remarks, Comrade Oladoja praised Prof. Zeb-Obipi and the RSU management for creating a safe campus environment and ensuring steady electricity supply. He explained that the NANS tour seeks to restore the association’s image and strengthen student representation nationwide. He also congratulated the Vice-Chancellor on his induction into the NANS Hall of Fame by the Senate of NANS and announced his nomination for a national award to be presented during the 45th Anniversary of NANS in November.
The event was graced by key officials of the university, including Prof. Blessing Jaja, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) designate; Mrs. I. B. S. Harry, Registrar; and Prof. Paul Nadube, Director of Procurement.
