Sinoma Nigeria Ltd Visits ABU for Joint Research Laboratory Project

Representatives from Sinoma Nigeria Limited The company is a subsidiary of the China Building Materials Academy (CBMA) - has visited Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, to discuss a joint research laboratory project. The proposed laboratory will focus on researching low-carbon building materials, new materials, and digitalization.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of the laboratory was signed on October 3, 2024. The university's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adamu Ahmed, expressed the institution's readiness for collaboration and appointed the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Advancement, Research, and Innovation, Professor Sanusi Aliyu Rafindadi, to oversee the project.

The joint research laboratory will be driven by a team of seven experts from ABU, including professors and lecturers from the Departments of Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Glass and Silicate Technology, and Building. The research will focus on developing innovative solutions in the areas of low-carbon building materials, new materials, and digitalization.

The Vice-Chancellor, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Professor Ahmed Doko Ibrahim, thanked the company's representatives for the visit and reaffirmed the university's commitment to collaboration and research excellence.
