The National President of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Comrade Mohammed Haruna Ibrahim, has scored the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Lafia (FULafia),

Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, high, calling on his colleagues across the country to emulate his exemplary leadership style.

Ibrahim said: "if I were to score the vice-chancellor, I will score him more than 70% on performance."

Comrade Ibrahim spoke when he and other members of his executive council paid a courtesy visit to the Abdul Rahman in his office at Lafia. 

He commended Abdul Rahman for his doggedness in staff productivity, staff capacity building and promotion of staffers welfare.

He informed the vice-chancellor that he and his entourage were in FULafia to attend the SSANU 9th regular zonal executive council meeting of the North Central Zone and be part of the foundation laying ceremony of the new FULafia SSANU Secretariat.

Ibrahim said that he was happy to hear that promotion of staff and their capacity building were among the vice-chancellor's priority.

He lauded the Abdul Rahman for his open door policy by providing a conducive working environment for all staff to operate maximally, calling on the vice-chancellor to keep flag flying in his University.

Receiving the delegation at his office, the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, commended SSANU for chosen FULafia to hold its zonal meeting.

Abdul Rahman described SSANU as a major stakeholder in the University, adding that the union’s members had always aligned themselves with the University's programmes and assisted the Management to achieve its goals and objectives.

Abdul Rahman informed the leadership of SSANU that the University has no arrears of staff promotion, adding that "on the area of staff productivity and capacity building, all the staff had undergone one type of training or the other."

Later, during the foundation laying ceremony, the national president of the union thanked the Management of the University for supporting SSANU in its activities, advising members of the union to ensure quick completion of the project.
