TASFUED NIM Chapter Emerges Second-Best In Southwest At 2026 Management Summit

The Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED) Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) has emerged as the Second-Best Chapter in the South West Zone at the 2026 NIM South West Zonal Management Summit.

The recognition was presented during the two-day summit held at Ilaji Hotel and Resort, Akanran, Oyo State, which brought together management professionals, academics, industry leaders and members of the institute from across the region.

The summit, themed “Resilient Institutions, Responsible Leadership: Strengthening Management Systems for Sustainable Development,” also marked 65 years of management excellence.

Discussions at the event focused on building resilient institutions through responsible leadership, accountability, innovation and effective management systems capable of supporting sustainable development.

The achievement further highlights TASFUED’s growing reputation for professional excellence, institutional leadership and commitment to promoting ethical management practices within the university community.

The recognition also reflects the dedication of members of the TASFUED NIM Chapter, which has consistently maintained its position as one of the active and high-performing chapters of the institute.

Delivering the keynote address, the Vice-Chancellor of Dominion University, Ibadan, Professor Abel Olajide Olorunnisola, FNIM, emphasised the need for institutions to embrace responsible leadership, good governance, strategic planning and continuous innovation to remain competitive in a rapidly changing world.

He encouraged management professionals to adopt global best practices and strengthen organisational structures to achieve sustainable growth and institutional excellence.

The President and Chairman of the Council of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), Commodore Abimbola Olabibire Ayuba (Rtd.), FNIM, commended members for their commitment to the ideals of professional management.

He urged chapters across the South West Zone to continue promoting ethical leadership, professionalism and capacity development as essential tools for institutional and national advancement.

The major highlight of the summit was the presentation of awards to outstanding chapters across the South West Zone, where the TASFUED Chapter was recognised as the Second-Best Chapter for its contributions, active participation and commitment to the objectives of the institute.

The event was attended by representatives of various NIM chapters across the South West Zone.
