TASU Appoints Dr. Destiny Apuke as Acting Dean, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies
Taraba State University (TASU) has approved the appointment of Dr. Destiny O. Apuke as the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies following the completion of tenure by the outgoing Dean, Prof. V. A. N. Tine.
Taraba State University (TASU) has approved the appointment of Dr. Destiny O. Apuke as the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies following the completion of tenure by the outgoing Dean, Prof. V. A. N. Tine.
Dr. Apuke, who currently serves as the Head of the Department of Mass Communication, is expected to conclude his HOD responsibilities on 10 June 2026 before fully assuming leadership of the Faculty.
His appointment marks a formal transition in leadership as Prof. Tine bows out after a completed tenure characterized by administrative continuity within the Faculty.
The University management described the appointment as strategic and timely, aimed at strengthening academic leadership and advancing the Faculty’s growth trajectory in teaching, research, and innovation.

Faculty stakeholders expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor and the management team for the decision, noting that the new leadership transition aligns with broader institutional goals of academic excellence and development.
Dr. Apuke is expected to steer the Faculty into a new phase of innovation and academic expansion, with expectations high across departments for improved visibility and performance in communication and media studies.
