Thomas Adewumi University Hosts COREN for High-Impact Outcome-Based Education Workshop
Thomas Adewumi University (TAU) has reinforced its status as a premier center for technical innovation by hosting the Engineering Accreditation Committee (EAC) of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) for a specialized three-day professional training workshop.
The event gathered distinguished engineering experts and academics from prestigious institutions, including the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), and LAUTECH, to deliberate on the future of engineering education in Nigeria.

In her welcoming address, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francisca O. Oladipo, characterized TAU as an "engineering campus." She emphasized the institution's commitment to a hands-on pedagogical approach and its focus on fostering industry relevance to produce engineers capable of competing on a global scale.
The workshop's primary focus was the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE). Lead Facilitator Professor John Adesiji Olorunmaiye guided participants through the transition from traditional teaching to a student-centered model.

Throughout the sessions, participants explored critical themes including accreditation procedures, course design, and quality assurance. These insights are intended to standardize and elevate engineering programs across the participating universities.
By facilitating this high-level collaborative training, Thomas Adewumi University continues to lead the discourse on professional development and academic excellence in the Nigerian engineering sector.
