Thomas Adewumi University (TAU) has achieved a significant milestone in enhancing its academic resources as two of Nigeria’s most eminent legal scholars, Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN), donated extensive collections of law books to the Faculty of Law Library.

The benefactors, Professor Wahab Egbewole, SAN, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin and a leading authority in Nigerian jurisprudence, and Professor Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN, distinguished legal practitioner and Principal Partner of Ghalib Chambers, contributed collections valued in millions of naira. The books encompass authoritative texts across constitutional law, commercial law, international law, and other key areas of legal practice.

This initiative underscores TAU’s dedication to delivering world-class legal education and creating an environment conducive to research, scholarship, and professional excellence.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Francisca Oladipo expressed deep appreciation to the donors, describing the contributions as “transformative gestures that will profoundly impact the academic experience of our law students and enhance the Faculty of Law's capacity to produce top-tier legal practitioners.” She emphasized that the donations “represent more than books—they are a bridge connecting students to the collective wisdom of Nigeria’s foremost legal minds.”

Professor Oladipo particularly highlighted Professor Egbewole’s consistent support since TAU’s inception, noting that his latest donation reinforces his ongoing commitment to academic growth, mentorship, and strategic advancement. Likewise, Professor Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN, who delivered TAU’s inaugural public lecture on “Decolonising African Education to Empower the Next Generation,” continues to support educational development through philanthropy aligned with the mission of the Yusuf Olaolu Ali Foundation.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Olugbenga Oke-Samuel, confirmed that the collections will be catalogued and made accessible to students, faculty, and researchers, further strengthening the faculty’s scholarly infrastructure. The donations arrive as TAU prepares for its second convocation ceremony on November 26, 2025, reinforcing the university’s commitment to expanding academic opportunities and fostering excellence in legal education.
