Toni Harris, the tenacious 24-year-old from Detroit, Michigan, who made history as the first woman to earn a fully funded football scholarship in the United States, has achieved yet another milestone by graduating with four degrees. Overcoming gender-based struggles and an ovarian cancer diagnosis at the age of 18, Harris exemplifies resilience and determination.

Harris's journey into football began during her grade school years, fueled by her passion for the sport. Despite initial resistance from teammates in high school, she persevered and joined the Redford Union High School football team. Her commitment and skill set her apart, challenging stereotypes about women in American football.

After high school, Harris continued her football journey at East Los Angeles College, playing free safety with the community college team. Her exceptional abilities paved the way for a groundbreaking opportunity—a four-year football scholarship at Central Methodist University in Missouri, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice/Political Science.

Undeterred by past challenges, Harris has set her sights on further academic pursuits. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, with an expected completion date in December 2022.
