The Governing Council of the University of Africa, Toru-Orua (UAT), has approved the promotion and appointment of eight new Professors and nine Readers.

The confirmation was made during the 15th Statutory Meeting of Council held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, under the chairmanship of the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Barrister Kemela Okara, MON.

The newly appointed Professors include:

  • Prof. Rachel Konyefa Dickson – Business Administration
  • Prof. Kaywood Elijah Leizou – Chemistry
  • Prof. Evans F. Osaisai – Mathematics
  • Prof. Japheth R. Bunakiye – Computer Science
  • Prof. Jasper Ezenwaka – Crop, Soil and Pest Management
  • Prof. Thompson Olusegun Ewata – Linguistics, Nigerian and Foreign Languages
  • Prof. Unekwu Onuche – Agricultural Economics and Extension
  • Prof. Godwin Poi – Entrepreneurship

Also promoted to the rank of Reader are:
Dr. Oghenemudiakevwe Igbi, Dr. Ebiowei S. F. Orubu, Dr. Endurance Uzobo, Dr. Yusuf Babatunde Lawal, Dr. Victoria Bennett, Dr. Tarila Boloupremo, Dr. Frank Funkeye Sapele, Dr. Benson Dunu, and Dr. Chinelo Blessing Oribhabor.
