University College Hospital Ibadan has approved the appointment of Dr. Raimi Olaleke Adeleke as the new Head of its Medical Social Services Department.
The appointment, approved by the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, took effect from March 7, 2026.
The development was formally acknowledged when Dr. Adeleke visited the office of the Chief Medical Director to present his appointment letter and officially assume his new administrative responsibilities.
Dr. Adeleke expressed appreciation to the hospital management for the confidence placed in him and pledged to strengthen service delivery within the department through teamwork, professionalism, and patient-centred care.
Prof. Otegbayo congratulated the new department head, describing the appointment as well deserved, and expressed confidence in his ability to provide effective leadership.
He emphasized the strategic importance of the Medical Social Services Department in delivering holistic healthcare, noting its role in supporting patients beyond clinical treatment and contributing to the hospital’s broader mandates in clinical services, research, and training.
The Chief Medical Director urged Dr. Adeleke to apply his experience and professionalism in advancing departmental objectives and improving service outcomes within the institution.
