UDUS Deputy Dean Urges "Ganadores Doctores" to Shun Cultism and Drugs at White Coat Ceremony

The Deputy Deen, Student Affairs Unit of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Prof. Usman Zayyanu Umar has called on the new clinical Medical and Dental Sciences Students; The Ganadores Doctores, to shun all sorts of immoral acts during his speech at the White Coat Ceremony held at the CHS Auditorium on Monday, 15th of December, 2025. 

Continuing with his usual act of advising students, the Deputy Dean explained that character is paramount. He urged students to maintain high standards of conduct, explaining that respect for others is non-negotiable in the medical profession.

He specifically mentioned the need to respect both lecturers and fellow students.

Furthermore, he advised every student to establish a strong, positive mentor-mentee relationship to aid their academic journey.

Prof. Usman Zayyanu sternly warned against dangerous behaviors. He listed examination malpractice, the use of hard drugs, and cultism as serious offenses that could ruin a student's future.

Finally, he spoke on appearance, urging students to shun indecent dressing. He reminded them that looking professional is a key part of the discipline required in medical training.
