A graduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) has leveraged his final year project into a nationally recognized business venture, securing second place and a cash prize of ₦500,000 at the highly competitive Unity Bank Corpreneurship Challenge.

Gokok Ignatius Sylvester pitched his innovative food product: “Production and Evaluation of Ogi from Soybean with Blends of Cereals and Plantain,” during the competition held for corps members at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp in Umunna Bende L.G.A, Abia State.

The award-winning project, co-developed with partner Asamu Pius and supervised by Dr. M.A. Ojo, addresses the critical issue of malnutrition in Nigeria. Sylvester highlighted UNICEF statistics which state that malnutrition contributes to 45% of deaths among children under five in Nigeria. His enriched ogi product provides a superior, affordable, and locally sourced alternative to conventional options.
