Rotary Club Pays Courtesy Visit to UCH Management, Announces Cataract Surgery Training Grant

A delegation from the Rotary Club, Nihort District 9126, paid a courtesy visit to the Management of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, on Monday, 12th July 2026.  

The visit, held at the Hospital’s boardroom, was to formally inform Management about a cataract surgery training programme sponsored by the Rotary International Foundation.

Introducing the delegation, the Head of the Ophthalmology Department, Professor 'Tunji Oluleye, said the partnership aims to strengthen eye care service delivery and capacity building.  

The leader of the delegation, Rotarian Samuel Kolawole, expressed appreciation to UCH Management for 15 years of longstanding collaboration with the Club. He explained that funding for the programme is being provided through a global grant from the Rotary International Foundation.

The Chief Medical Director, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, while welcoming the delegation, expressed delight at the training programme and the accompanying sponsorship and donations.
