UDUS Faculty of Law Inaugurates New LAWSAN Executives

The Faculty of Law, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS), has inaugurated the new Law Students Association of Nigeria (LAWSAN) executives for the 2024/2025 Academic Session.

 

The inauguration ceremony, held on Wednesday, March 12th, 2025, at the Faculty Moot Court, was attended by the Faculty Dean, lecturers, and students. Dr. S.U. Mohammed, the Faculty Examination Officer, urged the new executives to familiarize themselves with the LAWSAN constitution to effectively carry out their duties.

 

"The executives should study the LAWSAN constitution to better understand their roles and responsibilities," Dr. Mohammed emphasized. She also encouraged students to work collaboratively with the new executives.

Additionally, Dr. Aliyu Mansur addressed the gathering, cautioning students, particularly female students, against indecent dressing. He advised them to refrain from wearing trousers and instead opt for skirts.

 

The newly inaugurated LAWSAN President, Comrade Yusuf Nasir Moriki, delivered a keynote speech, assuring students that their voices would be heard. "We will organize a Congress meeting where every student can express their opinions and concerns regarding the faculty. A complaint box will also be provided for students to submit their grievances."

The inauguration marks the beginning of a new era for LAWSAN, with the new executives poised to promote the interests of law students and foster a conducive learning environment.
