UDUS Lecturer Secures Scholarship for Doctorate Degree in USA, Receives Award from Students
The Mass Communication department at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) recently celebrated the achievement of Mallam Idris Muhammad, a lecturer who secured a scholarship for his Doctorate degree at the University of Alabama in the United States.

The event was attended by faculty members, including Professor Chika Umar, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, and Dr. Abubakar Mijinyanwa, Head of the Mass Communication department.

The Mass Communication Students Association (MACOSA) presented Mallam Idris with an honorary award in recognition of his contributions to their academic journey.

Mallam Idris expressed gratitude to his colleagues and students, sharing his personal story of perseverance and encouragement. He recalled a previous scholarship opportunity at Queensland University in Australia that was hindered by an accident and expressed his gratitude for a second chance. Despite his upcoming departure, Mallam Idris assured his students that online classes would continue, allowing their learning journey to persist uninterrupted.
