The University of Ibadan Students’ Union, through its Complaints Committee (Task Force), has released a revised schedule of intra-campus transport fares and issued a stern warning to operators against overcharging students and residents.

The updated fares, effective immediately, cover multiple routes across the campus, with charges ranging from ₦100 to ₦600 depending on the destination. Overcharging is now classified as extortion, attracting fines in line with Union regulations.

Key routes from the Main Gate include:

  • Queens Hall, Mellanby, SUB – ₦100
  • Faculty of Technology, Law, Social Sciences – ₦200
  • Awo Stadium, Poly Gate, Ajibode – ₦300
  • Lakoto – ₦400
  • Car Drop services – ₦600

Special tricycle fares were also outlined:

  • ₦300 for routes where a single passenger would normally pay ₦100
  • ₦500 for routes with a ₦200 single-passenger fare

The Union encouraged students to report any instances of overcharging and reiterated its commitment to protecting the student body from exploitation by transport operators on campus.
