UniAbuja Partners with Royal Dynasty Homes to Construct 1,152-Bed Female Hostel
The University Of Abuja community gathered today to witness the groundbreaking ceremony of a 1,152-bed capacity female hostel, to be developed through a Public-Private Partnership with Royal Dynasty Homes Ltd.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, described the project as an important step toward addressing the institution’s accommodation challenges.
With a student population of about 40,000 and fewer than 7,000 currently housed on campus, the new hostel will help bridge part of the accommodation gap and improve the welfare of students, Fawehinmi stated.
The MD/CEO of Royal Dynasty Homes Ltd, Igbekele Aremo, expressed appreciation to the University for the opportunity to partner on the project adding that the company is committed to delivering modern, world-class student housing.
Aremo noted that the project is driven by a strong vision to support quality education through safe and conducive living environments.
The Student Union Government leader, Yusuf Jamiu Tobi, who witnessed the groundbreaking along with some of his executive members, expressed appreciation for the initiative and pledged the support of the student body towards the successful completion of the project.
He added that Improved accommodation will elevate student welfare and academic performance on campus.
