UNIJOS Announces Christmas, New Year Break; Fixes Resumption Date

The Management of the University of Jos (UNIJOS) has announced the timetable for the 2025 Christmas and New Year break and clarified the official resumption date for academic and administrative activities.

In an internal memorandum issued on December 20, 2025, by the Deputy Registrar, Information and Publications, the University stated that the holiday will commence on Monday, December 22, 2025, and end on Sunday, January 4, 2026.

The memorandum confirmed that all academic and administrative activities will resume on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Management explained that the clarification became necessary following a clerical error in an earlier memo dated December 19, which incorrectly stated the resumption year as 2025. The University noted that the error has been corrected and urged staff and students to take note of the accurate resumption date.

The University also directed staff on essential services to continue reporting for duty throughout the holiday period to ensure the security and smooth maintenance of the institution.

The Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the University, extended Christmas and New Year greetings to members of the University community.
