The three-day conference, held from Tuesday, September 23 to Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Landmark Centre, Lagos, brought together over 145 top exhibitors from more than 20 countries to showcase innovations shaping the future of construction across Africa.
Khalid, who delivered a compelling presentation titled “Sustainable Materials – Innovations for the Nigerian Market,” impressed industry leaders, researchers, and developers with his confident and insightful delivery that reflected UNILAG’s culture of brilliance, innovation, and excellence.
His presentation examined:
- The state of sustainability adoption within Nigeria’s construction sector and the influence of existing regulatory frameworks.
- Innovative and eco-friendly construction methods and materials suited to Nigeria’s climate and market conditions.
- The use of Building Information Modelling (BIM), generative design, and automation to deliver low-carbon, high-performance buildings.
