The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has announced plans to hold its 2026 Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) Pre-Placement Orientation Programme for students scheduled to proceed on industrial attachment.

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has announced plans to hold its 2026 Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) Pre-Placement Orientation Programme for students scheduled to proceed on industrial attachment.

According to an internal memorandum issued by the SIWES Unit, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, the orientation programme is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 14th January, 2026, at the University Auditorium, by 10:00 a.m. prompt.

The programme, described as an annual enlightenment forum, is organised by the SIWES Unit in collaboration with the Industrial Training Fund (ITF). It is designed to adequately prepare students for their industrial training by familiarising them with the objectives, requirements, expectations, and operational guidelines of the SIWES scheme.

The memorandum further disclosed that the programme will be formally declared open by the Vice-Chancellor of the University.

Faculty and Departmental SIWES Coordinators have been directed to inform their students to visit the SIWES Unit to collect their SIWES documents ahead of the orientation. The attendance of Departmental SIWES Coordinators was also noted as crucial to the overall success of the programme.

The notice was signed by the Director, SIWES Unit, Professor R. M. O. Kayode, who expressed appreciation for the expected cooperation of all stakeholders involved.
