The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has reaffirmed its position as the most sought-after institution among admission seekers, maintaining its lead in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Institutional Rankings for the 2022/2023 academic session.

According to Kunle Akogun, the Director of Corporate Affairs at UNILORIN, the university has once again clinched the title of 'Most Subscribed Institution' with an impressive 97,351 applicants. This marks the university's continuous dominance since 2013, a feat celebrated with an award of N150 million from JAMB for its popularity among candidates.

In addition to its domestic acclaim, UNILORIN also excelled internationally, admitting the highest number of international students compared to other institutions in Nigeria. With 70 international students enrolled, UNILORIN significantly outpaced its closest competitor, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, which admitted 18 international students.

Akogun highlighted the comprehensive criteria used by JAMB, which included factors like admission spread across the nation, gender balance improvements, student population, and adherence to admission guidelines. UNILORIN's achievements reflect its commitment to academic excellence and global inclusivity.
