UNIMAID Strengthens Partnership with RESILAC Through New MoU
The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Redressement Économique et Social Inclusif du Lac Tchad (RESILAC) to deepen collaboration in academic, social, and developmental initiatives.

The formal signing ceremony took place on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building of the university.
Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, described the partnership as a strategic milestone that would bring mutual benefits to both institutions. He noted that the collaboration would not only enhance research and training opportunities but also positively impact the university community and its surrounding environment.

“This MoU represents a new chapter in our collective pursuit of knowledge and social progress. We deeply appreciate RESILAC’s support and commitment to shared values that promote education, inclusivity, and sustainable development,” Professor Mele stated.
On his part, the RESILAC Coordinator, Mr. Gardie Nigadu, commended the University of Maiduguri for its longstanding mentorship, institutional stability, and continued support in advancing regional development. He expressed confidence that the renewed collaboration would further strengthen their relationship and foster innovative projects beneficial to both parties.

The highlight of the event was the official signing of the agreement, which outlined the key areas of cooperation between UNIMAID and RESILAC.
