The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to advancing academic excellence and institutional growth within the Faculty of Social Sciences.

He made this known while receiving the Dean and members of the Faculty of Social Sciences during a courtesy visit to his office at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

Professor Mele assured the delegation of his continued support, noting that the university’s progress is a collective effort that thrives on collaboration and innovation. He pledged to provide the faculty with the necessary institutional backing and resources to enhance teaching, research, and community engagement.

He expressed appreciation for the administration’s support and appealed for further attention to some of the faculty’s pressing needs, including enhanced research funding and improved learning facilities.

The visit ended on a positive note, with both parties reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening the faculty’s academic capacity and promoting excellence across the university.
