Osun State University, Osogbo (UNIOSUN), has appointed Professor Alamu Jelil Oguntola as the Provost of its Postgraduate School, marking another major milestone in his academic and administrative career.
Professor Oguntola, a renowned Professor of Mechanical Engineering, is an alumnus of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, where he graduated in 1998. He holds the distinction of being the first LAUTECH graduate to be appointed Acting Vice-Chancellor of any university in Nigeria.
His research expertise spans thermodynamics of materials, fluid flow, and renewable energy, with significant contributions to engineering education and research development in Nigeria.
The Vice-Chancellor of LAUTECH, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, has congratulated Professor Oguntola on the appointment, describing him as a shining star and a worthy ambassador of the university.
The appointment further underscores UNIOSUN’s commitment to strengthening postgraduate education through experienced academic leadership and reflects LAUTECH’s growing influence in producing top-tier scholars and university administrators.
