University of Ibadan, University of Ilorin, and Usman Danfodio University Advance to Physical Stage of NAVMS Debate Competition

University of Ibadan, University of Ilorin, and Usman Danfodio University Advance to Physical Stage of NAVMS Debate Competition

The Nigerian Association of Veterinary Medical Students (NAVMS) has announced that the University of Ibadan, University of Ilorin, and Usman Danfodio University Sokoto have advanced to the physical stage of its debate competition. The convention is scheduled from August 16-20, 2024, where each institution will be represented by two candidates.

The final stage will include two debate sessions, with the first session determining one school to be eliminated, and the remaining schools proceeding to the second session.

Debate topics include:

1. Debate Session: "Is the Creation of a Livestock Ministry Necessary for Improving Animal Welfare Standards in Nigeria?" (free choice of side)

2. Oratory Contest: "The Role of Telemedicine and Artificial Intelligence in Veterinary Diagnostics and Decision Making"

Each school will have 15 minutes to present their arguments. NAVMS also extends appreciation to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; Michael Okpara University, Umudike; and Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Markurdi, for their participation.
