University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital Achieves Milestone with Second Kidney Transplant

The University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) has successfully performed its second living-donor kidney transplant, 15 years after the first transplant.

This achievement was announced by the Chief Medical Director, Professor Ahmed Ahidjo, at a press briefing following the procedure .

The hospital's management has shown significant commitment to advancing medical care in the region. Notably, UMTH had previously planned to conduct free kidney transplants for 20 patients, further underscoring its dedication to healthcare delivery .
