The University of Maiduguri has issued a warning about a fraudulent online platform claiming to offer admission into the university. The scammers are requesting a payment of N15,000 for a "catchment fee" through the website.

The university has confirmed that the website is fake and has dissociated itself from this activity. Prospective students are advised to be cautious and not to make any payments to private or unverified accounts/websites.

The university assures applicants that all official information regarding admission is communicated solely through its official website and recognized channels.
