University of Uyo Students’ Union Unveils Verified Communication Channels

The Students’ Union Government (SUG), University of Uyo, through its Directorate of Information and Public Relations, has released an official guide outlining verified communication platforms for the dissemination of accurate and timely information to students.

In the announcement dated January 28, 2026, the Union designated “TUSKERS REPUBLIC” as the central and official WhatsApp channel for all coordinated updates on student affairs. The platform is expected to serve as the primary hub for reliable information concerning academic matters, Students’ Union activities, and NELFUND-related updates.

To further strengthen information flow, the Students’ Union also recognised several secondary WhatsApp channels as approved outlets for official communication. These include UNIUYO CAMPUS, UNIUYO UPDATES, UNIVERSITY OF UYO LATEST NEWS, UNIVERSITY OF UYO VERIFIED & RELIABLE UPDATES (Moore’s Official Channel), UNIUYO GIST BLOG, and UNIUYO HUB.

The Union, however, issued a strong warning against reliance on unverified platforms, stressing that any channel not listed in the announcement is not registered under the Students’ Union. It cautioned that it would not be held responsible for misinformation or issues arising from content obtained through unauthorized sources.

Students were therefore advised to rely strictly on the listed official channels for credible updates affecting their academic and welfare interests.
