UNIZIK Announces 20th Convocation Ceremony

Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has announced that its 20th Convocation Ceremony will take place from Wednesday, June 17th to Saturday, June 20th, 2026.

The announcement was made by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie during the 242nd Senate meeting held on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026, at the Zephaniah Madubuko Auditorium, Faculty of Social Sciences.

The four-day event will provide graduands of the 2024/2025 academic session with the opportunity to receive their certificates. The programme will also include the award of honorary degrees and the bestowment of Emeritus Professorial titles.

Prof. Anyaehie further revealed that the university may hold an additional convocation ceremony later in the year, tentatively scheduled for November 2026, coinciding with the birthday of the late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe (Zik of Africa).

Emphasizing his administration’s commitment to the university community, the Vice-Chancellor assured that the welfare of students and staff remains a top priority throughout his five-year tenure.
