US Embassy Pledges to Strengthen Ties with Bayero University on Development Matters

A team from the United States Embassy in Nigeria, led by Public Diplomacy Officer Mr. Brian T. Newbert, visited Bayero University Kano (BUK) to strengthen the existing relationship between the two institutions.

The team expressed appreciation for the quality of leadership at BUK and pledged to continue supporting the university through various interventions, empowerment programs, and intellectual exchanges.

Vice Chancellor Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas welcomed the delegation and highlighted the benefits of the long-standing relationship, including support from the MacArthur Foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and World Bank.

Prof. Abbas also acknowledged the impact of the Fulbright scholarship on students and academic staff, including himself.

The US team was assured of a peaceful and accommodating environment in Kano, dispelling concerns about insecurity.
