Usmanu Danfodiyo University Appoints Prof. Salisu Ahmad Yakasai as New Director of Centre for Hausa Studies

The management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto has announced the appointment of Professor Salisu Ahmad Yakasai as the new Director of the Centre for Hausa Studies.

The appointment, made under the directive of Vice Chancellor Professor Bashiru Garba, takes effect from September 15, 2025, for a period of two years.

Professor Yakasai is a renowned scholar with extensive experience in Hausa language, literature, and culture. He is currently a Senior Editor at the Tasambo Journal of Language, Literature, and Culture and has served as a faculty member in the Department of Nigerian Languages at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto.

The university community expects Prof. Yakasai's appointment to bring new energy and direction to the Centre for Hausa Studies.
