This panel is tasked with investigating the unrest and addressing the issues raised by the protests.
The committee, which is expected to deliver its report within two weeks, will focus on the following objectives:
- Examine Causes: Investigate both immediate and underlying causes of the student unrest.
- Identify Key Figures: Determine the roles of key players and principal actors involved in the crisis.
- Assess Damage: Evaluate the extent of damage inflicted on university property.
- Investigate Involvement: Explore potential internal and external involvement and collusion.
- Recommend Solutions: Propose measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
- Advise Management: Offer recommendations on related matters for university management.
The university management is also reaching out to the university community and the public for their input. Staff, students, and concerned citizens are encouraged to submit memoranda with information and suggestions for preventing future disturbances. These submissions should be directed to the Registrar's office, the Information and Protocol Officer, or the Secretary to the Committee by Friday, September 13, 2024.
This initiative aims to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the events and to foster a safer and more stable campus environment.
