Venite University Hosts Artificial Intelligence Seminar, Advocates Responsible Tech Adoption

The College of Agriculture, Computing, Engineering and Sciences of Venite University, Iloro Ekiti, hosted a specialized seminar on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The event gathered academics, industry experts, staff, and students to examine the emerging opportunities and ethical challenges of rapidly evolving technologies.Balancing Academic Integrity with Tech LiteracyIn his welcome address, the Dean of the College, Professor Kehinde Agbele, cautioned students against over-reliance on AI for academic workflows.

He emphasized maintaining intellectual self-sufficiency and advised faculty members to thoroughly verify student sources and documentation.

The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Victor Ogunbiyi of New Horizons Nigeria, who traced the evolution of computing from punch cards to modern holographic systems. While acknowledging the vast benefits of AI, he warned against the erosion of human engagement and technological dependency.
