We now run Cyber Security, Engineering, says Crescent Varsity VC at Matriculation

The Vice-Chancellor of Crescent University, Abeokuta, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila, has announced the introduction of newly approved academic programmes by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Speaking at the 21st matriculation ceremony for the 2025/2026 academic session, Prof. Gbajabiamila disclosed that the university has commenced Bachelor of Science (BSc) programmes in Software Engineering and Cybersecurity. He emphasized that all degree programmes offered by the institution are fully accredited by the NUC and relevant professional bodies.

The Vice-Chancellor advised newly admitted students across all departments to shun cultism, drug abuse, violence, examination malpractice and other social vices, warning that such acts could lead to their expulsion from the university.

In his address, the Proprietor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prince Adesegun Ajibola, SAN, thanked parents and guardians for their confidence in the university’s vision of academic and moral excellence. He encouraged them to regard Crescent University as a collective project rather than seeing it as belonging to others.

Prince Ajibola also commended the Crescent University Alumni Association for its donation of ₦5 million to the institution and its pledge to support an ongoing building project. He urged the newly matriculated students to emulate the alumni by contributing to the growth and development of their alma mater in the future.

A total of 567 full-time students were matriculated from six colleges: Bola Ajibola College of Law (BACOLAW), College of Arts, Social and Management Sciences (CASMAS), College of Health Sciences (COHES), College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CONAS), College of Information and Communication Technology (CICOT) and College of Environmental Sciences (COES).

In addition, 270 part-time students were also matriculated across various programmes of the university.

Meanwhile, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), represented by the Head of Matriculation and Monitoring, Mrs. Kafayat Ibiwoye, congratulated the new students and praised Crescent University for its strict compliance with approved admission procedures.
