Yakubu Gowon University Acting Vice-Chancellor Concludes Faculty Tour with Visit to Pharmaceutical Sciences

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Yakubu Gowon University, Professor Patricia Manko Lar, has officially concluded her faculty tour with a final stop at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

 

The tour, which commenced on February 17, 2025, was part of her efforts to familiarize herself with the university’s environment, staff, and students while rallying support to elevate the institution. 

 

Over the course of the visits, Professor Lar engaged with all 16 faculties, including those at the Mini Campus and the University Teaching Hospital, Abuja.

During her visit to the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, she underscored the importance of teamwork and collaboration among stakeholders. She also highlighted the need for research initiatives capable of attracting major grants to the university.

 

 Additionally, she emphasized the necessity of seeking alternative funding sources and forming strategic partnerships to drive institutional growth and development.

Welcoming the vice-chancellor and her team, the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Abdullahi Musa Ismail, expressed enthusiasm about the visit.

 

 He noted that the faculty had immense potential and, with the support of Professor Lar’s administration, was poised to achieve global recognition.
