‘You’re Nigeria’s most prolific election loser’ — APC knocks Atiku over Tinubu’s certificate

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on former Vice President and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to gracefully accept his defeat in the last general election and move forward with dignity. The statement comes in response to Atiku's recent news conference in which he once again questioned the academic credentials of President Bola Tinubu. Felix Morka, the spokesman for the APC, issued a statement late Thursday, criticizing Atiku's press conference as lacking purpose and containing nothing more than a repetition of lies, distortions, and falsehoods. Morka accused Atiku of having an "infantile obsession" with President Tinubu's academic records.

In recent weeks, Nigerians and the world have witnessed what the APC describes as Atiku Abubakar's "utter desperation" in his quest to become the President of Nigeria. During his press conference, Atiku addressed some of the issues related to his appeal at the Supreme Court and made unproven allegations against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The APC believes that Atiku should have refrained from making public comments on a matter that is currently before the court for adjudication, showing contempt for the judicial process.

The APC pointed out that Atiku harbors deep animosity towards Tinubu, whom he blames for his electoral losses in 2007, 2015, 2019, and the most recent election in 2023. In what the APC characterizes as a display of desperation unbecoming of a former statesman who held the second-highest office in the country, Atiku has abandoned decency, decorum, dignity, and national respectability in his pursuit of power. The party criticized Atiku's recent trip to the United States, labeling it a "purposeless judicial voyage of discovery" in search of a magic solution to gain power against the will of the Nigerian electorate.

The APC also highlighted Atiku Abubakar's record as Nigeria's most prolific election loser and the longest-running presidential candidate in the country's history. The party viewed Atiku's recent visit to the United States as the final act of a roundly rejected presidential aspirant. While expressing sympathy for Atiku's lifelong pursuit of an unrealized dream, the APC strongly condemned the path he has chosen and the negative exposure he has brought to Nigeria and the institution of the Presidency on foreign soil.

The APC concluded by urging Atiku Abubakar to accept his defeat graciously and move forward with dignity, acknowledging that Nigerians had rejected him at the polls. The party emphasized that Atiku should not attempt to achieve through subterfuge what he failed to achieve through the ballot box.
