Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano Appoints New Principal Officers

Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano (YUMSUK) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new principal officers: Dr. Karimatu Isa Maisango as University Librarian and Mr. Salmanu Muhammad Kibiya as Bursar.

 

The appointments were approved by the University Governing Council during its 40th meeting held on December 23, 2024. Both appointees bring a wealth of experience and a strong track record of service to the university.

 

Dr. Karimatu Isa Maisango, formerly the Deputy Librarian, takes on the role of University Librarian. She possesses a strong academic background and a deep understanding of library management.

Mr. Salmanu Muhammad Kibiya, previously the Deputy Bursar, has been elevated to the position of Bursar. He has demonstrated exceptional professionalism and dedication in his financial management roles within the university.

 

The selection process for these critical positions was rigorous and transparent, with advertisements published in national dailies drawing applications from numerous qualified candidates across the country. After a thorough screening and interview process, Dr. Maisango and Mr. Kibiya emerged as the most competent and suitable individuals for the roles.

 

The Governing Council, chaired by Professor Hafiz Abubakar, reiterated the university's commitment to excellence in its leadership appointments. In his remarks, Professor Abubakar emphasized the importance of selecting individuals of the highest caliber to lead the university.
