103 ABU Veterinary Doctors Inducted into Nigerian Veterinary Medical Council

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has inducted 103 newly graduated veterinary medical students into the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Council.

The oath-taking ceremony was held today, Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Abdullahi Mahadi Conference Centre, Samaru Main Campus, Zaria.

The Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Junaidu Kabir, described the induction and oath-taking ceremony as historic, marking the beginning of the new doctors' journey into the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Council as registered doctors.

 

Professor Kabir expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor and University Senate for their support, which made the realization of the day possible. He reminded the new doctors of the investment made by their parents and faculty staff to become the professionals they are today.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kabiru Bala, congratulated the new veterinary doctors and wished them well in their future endeavors. He emphasized the importance of resilience and humility in discharging their services to humanity.

 

The administration of the oath was performed by the Registrar of the Veterinary Medical Council, Dr. Oladotun E. Fadipe. Awards and cash prizes were presented to outstanding students, including Dr. Onyealilam Priscilla Chiamaka, Best Graduating Female Student; Dr. Abubakar Hassan, Best Overall Graduating Student; and Dr. Samson Sunday, Overstayed Student.
