2026 UTME Admission Cut-Off Marks Released for Nigerian Universities

JAMB has released the approved UTME cut-off marks for Nigerian universities for the 2026 admission exercise. Pan-Atlantic University set the highest minimum score at 220, while several top institutions, including University of Lagos and University of Ibadan, adopted 200. Other universities fixed their cut-off marks between 150 and 195 depending on the institution. JAMB noted that the scores are minimum admission benchmarks, and competitive courses may require higher departmental cut-off marks.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced the minimum UTME cut-off marks approved for the 2026 admission exercise across Nigerian universities. The decision was reached during the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions held in Abuja on Monday.Leading the list is Pan-Atlantic University, which set the highest minimum cut-off mark at 220 for prospective candidates seeking admission into the institution.
According to information Gathered by myschoolnew, Several top universities across the country fixed their minimum admission benchmark at 200. These include Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Benin, University of Ibadan, University of Lagos, University of Nigeria, Covenant University, and Air Force Institute of Technology.
In Lagos State, Lagos State University and Lagos State University of Science and Technology adopted 195, while Lagos State University of Education fixed its minimum score at 185.
Many other federal and state institutions, including Ahmadu Bello University, Yakubu Gowon University, and University of Ilorin, set their cut-off marks at 180.
Universities such as University of Jos, Babcock University, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, and Federal University of Applied Sciences fixed theirs at 170.
The 160 category includes institutions like Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bayero University Kano, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Osun State University, Kwara State University, and Modibbo Adama University.
Meanwhile, institutions including AbdulRasaq Abubakar Toyin University, Adamawa State University, Adeleke University, and African School of Economics adopted 150 as their minimum admission score.
JAMB clarified that these scores represent only the minimum requirements for admission consideration. Universities are still allowed to set higher departmental cut-off marks for competitive courses such as Medicine, Law, Engineering, and Pharmacy.
Candidates are therefore advised to monitor their preferred institutions closely and prepare adequately for post-UTME screenings and other admission requirements.
