38-Year-Old AI Expert Zahraddeen Sufyanu Promoted to Full Professor at Federal University Dutse

Federal University Dutse has approved the promotion of Dr. Zahraddeen Sufyanu to full Professor of Computer Science, effective October 1, 2025, making the 38-year-old one of Nigeria’s youngest AI professors. He completed his PhD in Artificial Intelligence in just 24 months and is now a globally recognized expert with hands-on experience across top Nigerian institutions.  

Beyond academia, Prof. Sufyanu stands out for blending world-class expertise with grassroots activism. He is active in local politics, leading public sensitization campaigns and community dialogues through radio and direct engagement programmes.  

Engineer Adamu Garba Yakasai in a congratulatory message, hailed the feat as proof that “Nigeria is progressing,” adding that the country must “recognize such talent, support it, and give it the right opportunities to thrive.”
