In a somber turn of events, the Abia State University community mourns the loss of several students from the Department of Medicine and Surgery who were involved in a devastating motor accident. The Student Union Government (SUG) has extended its heartfelt condolences to the affected department and the families of the deceased.

In an official statement released earlier today, the President of the SUG, Comr Chinenye Chidirim Emmanuel, expressed profound sadness over the incident, labeling it as "heartbreaking." The accident, which occurred along the Okigwe Umuahia road, resulted in the tragic loss of lives and left others injured.

"We received the depressing news of some students from the Department of Medicine and Surgery who got involved in an accident along Okigwe Umuahia road where precious lives were lost and some wounded. We must, at all cost, drive with carefulness against accidents like this," stated Comr Chinenye Chidirim Emmanuel.
