ADSU VC Receives NMCN Team for Verification of Proposed Bachelor of Nursing Science Programme

The Vice-Chancellor of Adamawa State University (ADSU), Mubi, Professor Augustine Clement, on 24th September, 2026, received a delegation from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) on an observation and verification exercise for the proposed commencement of the Bachelor of Nursing Science programme in the University.

The Vice-Chancellor, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Marcel Papka Agah, welcomed the team and expressed appreciation for their visit and commitment to ensuring that professional and regulatory standards are maintained in the education and training of nurses and other healthcare professionals.

According to Professor Agah, the exercise was aimed at assessing and verifying the institution's facilities, academic environment, human resources, infrastructure and other requirements necessary for the establishment and commencement of the Nursing Science programme.

Speaking during the visit, the leader of the NMCN delegation, Dr. Babaji Maigari from the University of Maiduguri, commended the Vice-Chancellor and the University Management for their dedication to infrastructural development and the steady growth of the institution.

Dr. Maigari noted that the verification exercise marks a significant step towards the establishment of the Bachelor of Nursing Science programme and other health-related programmes in Adamawa State University. He expressed optimism that successful compliance with the Council's regulatory requirements would enhance the University's capacity to provide quality education and produce competent healthcare professionals capable of making meaningful contributions to the healthcare sector.
